Here's a picture of Charles and Nathaniel coaching. As you can see Charles had grown a beard and mustache which I really liked on him. Yeah, well he shaved it today and I feel like I'm married to a little boy!Keegan scored his first basket today in their game and was very excited about that. I accidentally called it a goal and got politely corrected by my guys (sorry!). Must have been leftover from the super bowl game.
Life either craaaaawls very slowly here or moves at break neck speed, usually the later. We've been plugging away at school and it's going smoothly right now. Spelling has finally clicked for Nathaniel and he's pretty proud about that. He's been reading Trumpet of the Swan and really enjoying it. So much so, he had me order the movie. I think Keegan will be the first one fluent at Spanish, it seems to come naturally for him. Keegan just finished his extra 600 minutes of reading for his free Six Flags tickets. Nathaniel was too old this year and it's Keegan's last year earning them. Darn! We'll have to buy them all next year.
Probably the most exciting thing to happen this month was our Homeschool group F.A.I.T.H. doubling in size in just one month! Our Valentine party & pot luck are going to be huge. We are VERY happy about that! I'm praying they all continue to come. We have a bunch of "new to homeschooling" families that are needing plenty of help.
We missed church a couple of Sundays. Once because hubby had to be somewhere and we didn't have transportation and once because we went to "Winter Jam" and considered that worship for the day. It felt good to be back in adult class last Sunday! We really miss that when we aren't there.
Mom & Dad are in Mexico, left this morning on vacation for the next week. Steve turned 39 Thursday and we celebrated with him at Mom & Dad's. We put 40 on his cake to tease him a bit. Denise and Katelyn weren't there, Katelyn had karate practice. Kalin was there with her boyfriend Chris. He's finally warming up to us. He's been kind of shy but I think he knows we won't bite him now.
I'm really learning to walk closer with Jesus and I can't even begin to tell you the peace that brings. God wants to be so much more then an invisible deity out there some where... He wants to be a part of our everyday lives, struggles and joys. We talk often in our home about the relationship we want to have with Him. Now that the boys are getting older those discussions can get very deep and that means so much to me, sharing the depth of our faith with them.
Just so you know, I'm taking a break from our family newsletter for now, just not enough time. You'll have to come visit here to get updated = )
Bless and be blessed!
