What's new with us?????????

This is our All American History & Zoology class, see the mini Jamestown's they made in the middle of the table.

The boys just got back from a 5 day trip to Branson with my folks where they had a wonderful time bonding with Grandpa & Grandma.
Hubby and I enjoyed the quiet and went out on a couple of date nights while they were gone. We had fun but we were ready for them to return, the house was way to quiet!
Except for their vacation the boys have been studying hard. Their coarse load has become pretty intense and takes up most the hours of our day. We just finished up "the age of exploration" in American History and our family field trip to go with that was a trip to Grafton IL. to see the Nina & Pinta which were docked there. In my humble opinion men were either extremely brave or extremely nuts to load up on one of those and head out across the Atlantic! Next we will study the "Period of Colonization."
In Science we are wrapping up Entomology (the study of insects) and the final exams on that. Next we'll start Ornithology (the study of birds). Spanish, Vocabulary, Spelling, Keyboarding and their TT7 math are coming along. We should wrap up TT7 in about 2 months and move onto TT Pre Algebra. Nathaniel really likes his Computer Science software and is learning to create commands to produce objects using HTML. He had a mishap once and forgot to save his work and had to start from scratch, very frustrating!
Hubby and the boys are taking Martial Arts again. They're taking it in St. James this time at the St. James Christan Church. It's a free program we stumbled upon through another homeschool group newsletter I get. It's kind of like a martial Arts Upwards program where they're using Martial Arts to reach kids in the community for Christ. My guys have taken on the role of helping teach the younger class then participating in the older class. They were very thankful for the their experience and put them right to work helping. We're proud to be apart of this ministry and glad we found it. It's completely free for everyone, whether teaching or taking the class. It's also a new art for them, Okinawan Goju-Ryu. It's very tight and circular whereas TaeKwonDo was angular and open. Their even learning to count in Japanese!
Our homeschool group FAITH is HUGE now! We've had many new families recently and more coming all the time. We've really started to get organized and have our first big event coming up soon, a Family Fellowship & Pot Luck. At our last Fellowship Charles came and did pool noodle swords with the 10 & Ups and then had sparring competitions using the weapons they'd made. It was a HUGE hit, even the girls enjoyed it. Our project for the next Fellowship is Marshmallow guns. That should be interesting!
