Check out the pic of Steve and Kalin to the right....... they were in a play. What a HOOT!!!!!
Hey it's February! When did that happen! My calendar tells me about 9 days ago but I'm sceptical that we could already be a full solid week (and some change) into it. Don't you LOVE Missouri weather Spring one day and artic chill the next, never a dull weather day here! Well let's see... what's happened so far??? We thru a birthday party for my brother who turned 38 at our parents house. The food was awesome and the "aquarium cake" my sis-in-law made was VERY cool! We did our COSTCO thing while in the big city and the boys picked up some thingy from Best Buy that makes their PS2 accessible to 4 players instead of 2.
I started walking on the treadmill at the boys dojo and feel really good about it. This is MY year to get it all together. I'm learning a lot using the Weight Watchers calculator. Portion control is finally sinking in.
We went to the CHESS (Christian Homeschool Educators Support System) for skating this month. It was a really nice place and the boys had a lot of fun. Hubby got to go too because it's on Fridays, which he has off right now. My friend Judy and I met the other mothers for their quarterly steering meeting and were really pleased they let us jump right in to planning with them. We've been looking for a group focused on "connecting" and I think we've found it. I look forward to getting to know these homeschoolers, and to contributing to the homeschool community. Judy walked away in charge of Band & Music for the area and I'm going to be a liazon for setting up homeschool enrichment classes with the local state parks.
Lessons are going great and we are really sticking to our schedule with so many extra curricular activites going on. The boys are doing very well in piano with Mrs. Judy and I personally have seen a HUGE change in their abilities. The pieces they're playing now are so pretty. They want to please her so much that they are getting a bit competitive about doing well enough to earn the "extra song" for the week. Hubby says a little competition will be a very good thing for them.
The guys are starting to get a little excited about their RED belt test (April) in martial arts, and the boys are getting stronger with the added Ju Jitsu. It won't be long when Mom will lose in the good natured wrestling because it's pretty darn close now. They can actually make a muscle!
I've been reading Provebs and Psalms.... such pages of wisedom! My favorite verse is....
Remove far from me vanity and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me -- Proverbs 30:8
AMEN!
Deuteronomy 6:7 "And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up."
and ever
